It would be an understatement to say that the Internet of things is fast swirling its way into our daily life even in its littlest expressions. It is amazing how it is redefining data and how it can be diversified; enabling data collection, interpretation and transmission from one tech device to another with little or no human aid.
It is studying our daily living routine and using data gathered from such a study to proffer a new reality to those daily routines.
The world of automobiles is one aspect the Internet of things is fast entrenching itself. It’s a mind-blowing thriller how the internet of things is coming to reform the world of transportation, how transport machines are transiting to being purely software-oriented and how we can already look past the present to envision a future where our roads would be plied by driverless cars. To a degree, Google and Apple have given us a nibble at this future through their Android and IOS for automobiles incentives.
Internet of things is gradually helping us foresee a future with connected roadways where the road connections would be automated to reduce car accidents, right usage of the roads and other safety measures. Algorithms would be run to ensure the automated coordination of automobiles with zero human aid or effort. These algorithms would also help vehicles rely on sensors for safety communication rather than the limited efforts of human drivers.
Furthermore, we see in the coming future, the rise of Real-time data where we have availed the opportunity to relate with real-time data on issues of traffic, closed roads, travel schedule, public transportation, suggestions and so on.
This is a leap at ensuring the ease of commuting from one point to another and saving productive time usually spent sitting in traffic for hours.
Also, individual travel patterns could be identified in order to allow for real-time information on the road network and routes in cases of unexpected events.
It also allows for real-time tracking of vehicles where GPS systems are installed in vehicles, data on location, arrival, departure and in transit.
These and more are the colors IoT is adding to the future of mobility. The Internet of things is transforming the transportation economy and empowering the world at large.
