This feature not only offers added convenience for riders but also allows drivers ample time to prepare for upcoming trips. Notably, this concept is not entirely new to the ride-hailing industry, as Uber initiated a similar service in 2020.
Scheduled Rides also caters to business clients, offering them the Ride Booker option within their Bolt Business accounts. This feature enables business users to book rides in advance for themselves and their colleagues.
Scheduled Rides presents five key advantages, as per a statement shared with Technext. This booking capability empowers riders to secure rides up to three days ahead, mitigating last-minute uncertainties.
Furthermore, Scheduled Rides ensures that passengers need not worry about driver availability during peak demand periods.
To encourage widespread driver participation, customers will pay a supplementary fee for this convenience. This translates to increased earnings for drivers and a bolstered workforce for the service.
A noteworthy aspect is the flexibility for riders to choose their preferred ride category and provide specific instructions for drivers, customizing each ride to individual needs. Punctuality is emphasized, with the assurance that drivers will arrive promptly as scheduled.

Utilizing Scheduled Rides is designed to be effortless and user-friendly. Whether for airport transfers or urgent appointments, this service is designed to accommodate riders’ needs. The booking process is straightforward and swift.
Bolt claims that the process can be completed in less than a minute, offering two booking options for customers. Firstly, riders can open the Bolt app, tap the car and calendar icon, input the desired pickup time and date, specify the destination, choose the ride category, and confirm the booking by selecting “Reserve Bolt.”
Alternatively, users can open the Bolt app, enter their preferred destination in the “Where To” field, tap the calendar icon at the screen’s bottom right corner, and set the ride time and date. Bolt also notes that riders enjoy a five-minute waiting window, extending beyond the standard two minutes.
