Bolt launches ‘early cashout’ feature for drivers; an on-demand cash withdrawal feature that enables the drivers do instant withdrawals of their earnings; bonuses, passengers discounts whenever they want to do so. Innovation and user experience has always been the hallmark of Bolt’s operation since inception.
According to Bolt’s Country Manager in Nigeria, Femi Akin-Laguda,
Drivers are core to our business, and we must continue to retain the trust and loyalty we have earned over the years by fulfilling our promise to keep improving the overall experience for every driver. The early cashout option improves liquidity for our drivers’ by ensuring that they have easier and faster access to their earnings; this will include fares for trips paid with cashless options like cards, driver bonuses and payments for passenger discounts. Our aim is to ensure that our drivers have flexibility in how they access their earnings while passengers will be more confident to request rides with any payment method they wish.
HOW DOES THIS FEATURE WORK?
The Early cashout feature is wired to process payments directly to driver’s bank accounts. While the requests during business hours can be processed in less that an hour, requests outside these hours on business days will be processed on the same days. However, requests made on weekends and holidays will be processed on the following business day.
The early cashout service is accessible to existing drivers who have been on the platform for up to 2weeks and have completed at least 25trips. The feature is available to drivers once a day with a transaction fee of NGN15 paid to the bank.
The feature is said to help improve cash liquidity for drivers as it will ensure that drivers have faster access to their earnings whenever they need it without necessarily waiting for a period of one week as it was the case previously.
