Google has added a new feature to its list of inventions, as the translating feature can read your doctor’s bad handwriting.
Large numbers of doctors write prescriptions in a haste. This makes it impossible for the patients to understand what is written in it.
To solve this matter, it announced that it is working with pharmacists to explore ways to decipher the handwriting of doctors.

What Google New Feature Will Do
The feature will allow users to either take a picture of their prescription or upload one from the photo library.
Once that picture is processed, the app detects and highlights the drugs prescribed in the note.
“This will act as an assistive technology for digitizing handwritten medical documents by augmenting the humans in the loop such as pharmacists, however, no decision will be made solely based on the output provided by this technology,” the company said in a statement.
Google also revealed that it is working on a single, unified model to cover more than 100 Indian languages for both speech and text. This is to empower the internet journey for the next millions of individuals in the South Asian market.
Conclusion
India is Google’s lucky and key market. It had gathered over half a billion users in the country.
It has also been one of the toughest years to fit Google in the South Asian market. The search giant received an antitrust blow from India’s regulators twice in recent months.
Note that the feature is still in the research prototype and has not been launched yet. It will be launched as soon as the research is completed.
For those who do not know, Google for India is the company’s annual event in the South Asian market. This is where it showcases dozens of new developments.
