Microsoft, a technology company, has revealed that it will be launching an advanced version of its browsers Bing and Edge. The new versions of Bing and Edge, which they described as “AI copilot for the web”, will deliver better search, more complete answers, a new chat experience, and the ability to generate content.
“AI will fundamentally change every software category, starting with the largest category of all – search. Today, we’re launching Bing and Edge powered by AI copilot and chat, to help people get more from search and the web.” CEO and Chairman, Microsoft, Satya Nadella said.
This is coming after Google announced Bard, GhatGPT’s rival, which combines the depth of the world’s information with the power, intelligence, and creativity of its large language models to help deliver answers to inquiries.
With the new features, users can ask for a summary of a lengthy financial report to get the key takeaways and use the chat function to ask for comparison among competing companies
You can also ask Edge to help compose any content of choice by giving it a few hints. Once that is done, an update on the tone, format, and length of the post can be requested. This means that with the help of the new feature, you can keep updating the content to the tone of your choice each time you want to post them.
Conclusion
It is believed that some of the technologies behind the new Bing and Edge include a new, next-generation OpenAI large language model. This is more powerful than ChatGPT and specifically designed for search, and the Microsoft Prometheus model which works with the OPenAI model to function.
Note that the new versions of Bing and Edge are currently available for review testing and will be rolled out very soon.
