Microsoft 365 has unveiled a new AI feature called Copilot, a product powered by artificial intelligence that can generate content in Microsoft Teams.
It may provide meeting recaps and emphasize points in the discussion, while Outlook can summarize emails and create draught replies.
A Business Chat feature was also added by the company, which combines information from many apps to summarize chats, emails, and documents, monitor project progress, and produce planning overviews.
Now being tested by 20 business clients, Microsoft Copilot 365 will be made available to additional people in the “coming months,” according to the software giant.
The functionality uses the same OpenAI GPT-4 model as Microsoft’s updated Bing search, which is now being made available to all users. Office apps using text prompts have been unveiled by Microsoft.
Large language models are combined with user data from Microsoft Graph apps, such as calendars, emails, chats, documents, meetings, and more. On March 16, 2023, the business introduced the feature during its Future of Work event.
For example, users can instruct PowerPoint to add animations or styles to all slides while creating presentations based on Word documents.
It also applies to other apps. Users can, for instance, instruct Microsoft Word to create plans or proposals based on information from an Excel spreadsheet.
