Video Hosting Platform, TikTok has announced that it will introduce an “adult-only” option on its live platform. This new feature is to keep its community safe and it is rolling out on November 23, 2022.
This simply means that only persons above the age of 18 can live stream on its platform. Currently, to live stream, you must be 16 years and older.
Note that “Adult-Only” is not as its name implies as TikTok’s content is still subject to the app’s standard. It is just stating that only persons above the age of 18 can use its live platform.

Why The TikTok’s Adult-Only Feature
It is to help creators keep minors from seeing content geared at an adult audience or content that may be uninteresting to them.
Kids/minors imitate what they see and are exposed to. They are also fast learners too. This is just to keep in check they are watch, listen or see on the video platform.
TikTok’s Multi-Guest
TikTok is also rolling out a new feature called “Multi-Guest.” It allows hosts to go live with up to five other people using a grid or panel layout.
You can use the feature to host how-to videos, answer queries, or share a moment with others. Once the live stream begins, producers have several options, such as switching the camera and adding effects and stickers.
There is also filtering of comments, and adding moderators by tapping the three dots.
