Touch and Pay Technologies, a fintech business, has revealed that travelers can now use a mobile app to pay for interstate travel from Lagos.
Passengers can now pay formal and informal interstate travel operators within the city using the Cowry app, according to the company.
It explained that its app’s interstate booking function automates payment and seat allocation for users. Over a million interstate travels were made every day in the country, with around 40% of those trips beginning or ending in Lagos State.

CEO Touch and Pay Technologies On Its Function
Olamide Afolabi, Co-Founder and CEO of Touch and Pay Technologies commented on the debut, saying, “TAP is proud to be the first service to level the playing field when it comes to transportation in Lagos.”
He added that commuters often need to reserve tickets in advance to avoid waiting in lines. In the past, bus passengers had to physically visit counters and engage with attendants to book and pay for their trips. This is no longer the case.
Now customers taking interstate trips can access the details of their journey, including the ability to buy tickets and select the seats of their choice, without leaving the comfort of their homes.
Michael Oluwole, the company’s co-founder and Chief Growth Officer, noted, “Our interstate booking feature provides commuters with convenience and allows transportation providers to invest in improving interstate travel.”
By eliminating the need for cash transactions, transportation companies can streamline operations and cut costs. The new app is a win-win situation for both commuters and transport providers because it leads to a more efficient and enjoyable public transport system.”
In addition, the company claims that it has collaborated with the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation to accredit and verify all inter-city bus parks in the state.
Conclusion
This new app will give a single system for managing transportation routes, schedules, capacities, and prices throughout the state.
