Twitter has launched the long-anticipated Blue For Business, which distinguishes brand accounts from personal accounts.
Blue For Business is the new version of Blue Verified (Blue Tick). Asides from the gold checkmark, BFB comes with a square profile photo and the ability to link any affiliated Twitter accounts.
How Does Blue For Business Work
When business accounts designate their affiliated accounts, such as personal Twitter accounts of employees, the accounts get an additional badge. This will be next to their verified checkmark.
The above image shows a typical example of a Twitter employee’s account. Looking very closely, you will notice the blue checkmark and a badge with Twitter’s logo.

Twitter’s Further Explanation on BFB
Giving further details on this, Twitter said,
“By creating this connection, we’re making it possible for businesses to create networks within their organizations on Twitter. Business can affiliate their leadership, brands, support handles, employees or teams. Journalists, sports team players, or movie characters can all be affiliated. Each affiliate will be verified and officially linked to its parent handle based on a list provided by the parent business. We will share any new criteria, pricing, or process as we update them.”
So if your brand and its affiliates are at risk of impersonation on Twitter, having everyone verified and linked under the same parent account is great.
For now, we do not know how much the service will cost businesses and the signups are not available yet. We do hope more details are given on that.
With all that said note that Twitter is piloting BFB with select accounts and will make the service widely available next year.
