CBN (The Nigerian Central Bank), has announced the creation of the Enhanced eNaira service to solve problems caused by the Naira redesign strategy.
The Enhanced service, which was announced by Mr. Bayo Akintoye, founder and CEO of Bullnet platform, was created in partnership with Charms mobile Ltd. and Super Agents.
Customers can use the USSD channel *997*50# to conduct all banking operations using the eNaira improved service, and funds can be drawn from either a funded bank account or through reloadable vouchers like GSM cards.
The Purpose Of The eNaira Service
According to Akintoye, the service was created to ease the pains of the naira redesign, which has resulted in a cash shortage in the nation. It will be fully powered and run by the Bullnet platform.
He spoke “By creating the service called as eNaira Improved Services, the CBN has worked with Charms Mobile Ltd., a CBN licensed mobile money operator, and Super Agents to solve difficulties principally encountered by the unbanked, the undeserving, and those on the opposite side of the digital divide. where all bank transactions can be made via the eNaira USSD channel *997*50#”.
eNaira Services, Goals, Uses, and Advantages:
He noted that the technology also allows users to withdraw the cash equivalent without the need for intermediaries by sending eNaira directly from their wallets to an ATM.
Also, consumers have the option to send eNaira to a specified account for savings or additional transactions.
In addition, Akintoye said, the new feature would collaborate with a network of banking agents in Nigeria, such as Chams Mobile, Super Agents, and other mobile money agents and POS agents, who would onboard new users and profitably sell eNaira vouchers to clients.
He said that the eNaira extension staff members can also purchase and register SIM cards, assist clients who already have phones in using their wallets, and even assist those without phones by guiding them through the procedure on their own phones.
