MTN has revealed Selorm Adadevoh as the upcoming Group Chief Commercial Officer, set to assume the role on April 1, 2024. Adadevoh, with a notable tenure as MTN Ghana’s CEO since 2018, will succeed Jens Schulte-Bockum, the outgoing Group Chief Operations Officer.
The appointment aligns with MTN’s Group Operating Model, with Adadevoh seamlessly taking on executive responsibilities held by Schulte-Bockum. Adadevoh’s extensive industry experience, including roles at Digicel Group and Millicom/Tigo in Ghana, showcases his seasoned leadership.
Schulte-Bockum, departing after a seven-year legacy, will remain a non-executive director in MTN South Africa, Nigeria, and Bayobab boards.
Ralph Mupita, the telco Group CEO, expresses gratitude to Schulte-Bockum and congratulates Adadevoh. Stephen Blewett, returning in July 2023, will succeed Adadevoh as MTN Ghana’s CEO.
MTN Nigeria is panning to raise N52 billion through commercial papers for recapitalization.
